Kai is a first year student studying marine and freshwater biology at the University of Guelph. He excels at and enjoys math and the sciences and is also interested in reading and writing. He played and captained his high school rugby team and now plays with the thirds team at the University of Guelph. He was a rock climbing national competitor and now trains for climbing outside. Apart from his current sports, he also long boarded throughout middle school, played hockey until grade 11, played soccer goalie for a while and sailed at Ashbridges Bay Yacht Club for five summer seasons. Kai enjoys travelling and has spent four days hiking the Machu Picchu trail in Peru when he was only 12, and his snorkeling adventures have taken him to the second largest barrier reef in the world, among most countries in the caribbean. He also enjoys white water paddling, having most recently completed a 56 day white water canoeing trip starting in the North-West territories, moving through the Yukon and finally finishing in northern British Columbia with the same camp in the summer of 2017. His love for white water has also resulted in an investment in his own white water kayak and paddle, and hopes of paddling as often as he can with the Guelph Kayak Club this spring.
